Banana Dolittle - a recipe
Hello again,
To help you understand the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book, I thought I'd share one of the recipes from it. This is BANANA DOLITTLE. It was sent in by Mrs J Stroud (is this a Master-esque anagram?) from Lee, London. As you can easily see, it is being a little bit adventurous (which Mr Pertwee likes being), and is a home cooked yet not-earth costing meal. So if you make this, you're getting the best of ALL worlds.
1/2 lb. pork chipolata sausages
4 tomatoes (peeled and sliced)
4 bananas
1 medium onion (peeled and sliced)
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/4 pint water
pepper and salt
1) Lay sausages in bottom of greased casserole and cover with layer of sliced tomatoes and onions.
2) Slice bananas lengthways and arrange on top.
3) Pour water over, seasoned with pepper, salt and sugar.
4) Cook 1 hour in oven at mark 4 (350'F.).
