Cheese Whispers
Mrs J. S. Hooper sent this startling recipe in to Co-op for publication in the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book. She claims that they're a great cocktail dish, or you can eat them with bacon for supper. Yum yum!!
1/2 packet instant mashed potato
2 oz. butter
2 oz. plain flour
1 egg
4 oz. Gruyere cheese
salt and pepper
1) Prepare potato following instructions but using only half stated amount of water. Mix in butter and flour.
2) Beat egg, grate cheese, and add to mixture with seasoning.
3) Place in teaspoonfuls on greased baking sheet, leaving 1/2 inch spaces between each. Bake at mark 7 (425'F.) for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
