You may have noticed this latest story lurking around Gallifrey Base. It's Flight Crew. A short tale set aboard the USS Enterprise, with many guest appearances. I hope you like it.
That's right! Two stories! Though one has been available on GalliBase for about a week.
The Curse of the Gugelhuff - gugelhuff invasion! How Benton Became Gay - there's quite a sexuality inequality in our show. so here's a story to address that. Benton is now homosexual! I like watching sport. Last night I went to Eden Park to watch some rugby (Auckland Blues beating the ACT Brumbies). And I had the Recipe Book with me!!
Great news! The Jon Pertwee Recipe Book has been mentioned on Wikipedia's Jon Pertwee page. Unfortunately some overzealous half-brains may delete it (this being the negative side of allowing anyone to edit their site), so here's a screen cap:
I bought Human Nature. So I tweeted about it, including a reference to the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book. Both Paul Cornell (writer of official Doctor Who episodes broadcast on the tele), and Doctor Who BBC Books (the Beeb division overseeing Doctor Who Books) retweeted it. Why would they retweet it if the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book isn't canon? The only logical answer is that the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book must be canon.
Furthermore, Doctor Who BBC Books (the officials who decide whether or not its canon) declared the the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book and Human Nature was a "classic #DoctorWho pairing". There you have it folks! The Jon Pertwee Recipe Book is classic Doctor Who. I have recorded this event in The Official Word Isn't it amazing? Slightly late with this update. Went to the cricket on Saturday. New Zealand (good guys) V Australia (bad guys). It was part of the Cricket World Cup. The atmosphere was awesome!!!!!!! 40,000 or near that number crammed into Eden Park to watch this match. It helped that New Zealand got most of the Australians out early. That added to the excitement and jubilation and everybody (except maybe the Aussies) were having a superb time. Things started well in the New Zealand innings, but then some quick wickets fell. New Zealand recovered, but with victory in sight we lost more wickets. We only had one more wicket left (that means if a batsman gets out then its all over) and six more runs to get. Fortunately Kane Williamson hit a six and won the game for New Zealand
Auckland is beautiful. Our main harbour is filled with islands. The main one is Rangitoto, which is also a volcano!! You may recognise the name from Super Sleuth 3 when Sexy Voord is at a beach with a view towards Rangitoto. A few blog posts ago you can see a Pertwee toy on that beach (Mission Bay) with Rangitoto in the background.
Anyway, today I went there and walked to the summit. Boiling hot, and walking uphill made it really difficult. But there are some great views!! Oh, and New Zealand Tag Team THE BUSHWHACKERS are going into the WWE Hall of Fame. Bloody lovely, tell your mother! Hey team!! I've written another story.
Dr Who Goes to the Beach It's about going to the beach. I hope you like it. Went to the Symphonic Spectacular. Mean Peter Davision kept on insulting Colin Baker. He called him a big Mr Bean who's idea of exercise is reaching across a table to grab a chocolate biscuit. That wasn't very nice. Yo yo yo!! You may have noticed a new story of mine on Gallifrey Base. If you haven't then I've posted it here too. For Better or For Worse . It's set in the parallel universe and features Rose and that alternate Tenth Doctor. It's really short so you can read it in a couple of minutes. If you like that, then click here to see a list of links to my other stories Also, I thought it may be cool to share a picture of my wrestling toys from my childhood. The wrestlers (such as Goldberg, Hulk Hogan and Buff Bagwell should be easily recognised. But the others? the Two Vegetas on the left (blue suits - one with black hair and the other with gold hair) were my version of the Dudley Boys. Beside them is Goliath from Gargoyles who was used as Kane. His arm would recoil down when lifted which was like a chokeslam! Really cool. In front of the recipe book is a dragonfly who lost his legs. I nicknamed him the Demon. Another dragonfly (not in the picture) was the Goblin. They were often used in a tag team, and were modelled on the Hardy Boyz. Goku is beside him. He won my first King of the Ring tournament. Next to him is some guy from Gargoyles. I pretended he was the Rock, and he would have great feuds with Goldberg (Rock V Austin at WM17 was the inspiration behind this). And beside him, inbetween Hulk and Bagwell is Robin, who I called the Assassin and he was my version of the Undertaker And that is a plaque to commemorate CM Punk's win at Wrestlemania 29. Signed by Punk, and includes a piece of the ring mat.
Howdy. Here's some spiders! Slightly creepy, but rather cool too. A bit like wax statues of Obama.
And remember, when crossing the road, always SPLINK!! this is a must watch! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2cJHZMfi3w Wow!! Time is flying by. Not a lot to report. Hurt one of my toes today. Hopefully its just bruising and not a breakage. It's gone all purpley.
Happy new year! And happy Threadmas too!! It's now been four years since the canonicity of the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book was first raised. Amazing how the years have sped by. And here is a cute little insect that walked on me. Yes! Two Genghis Khan stories are now online. Mighty Genghis Khan is a traditional Tenth Doctor tale, whilst Mighty Genghis Khan - the Sequel! is more Recipe bookish, and features the Third Doctor as well (it's a multi-Doc epic!)
Alternatively, Madame H has a Tenth Doctor story on her site - https://autisticinnerspace.wordpress.com/2014/12/11/doctor-who-fan-fic-starting-again-featuring-david-tennant-as-the-10th-doctor/ , and Ribs wrote a Christmas tale with Adolf Hitler, available on the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book Forum. What fun! Yes, I went to the beach this week. On the way there, I stopped and bought a Titans Vinyl Figurine. It was blind boxed, but the Gods selected Pertwee's Dr Who as the figurine. No recipe book in his hand, but still, Jon Pertwee. So once I got to the beach I was able to get a nice picture of it. The island in the background is Rangitoto. I think it may be referred to in a couple of Sexy Voord stories.
I also saw an earwig (at my house). They're cool! Some good results from the recent exams!! So I'm happy. And met up with some friends for ten-pin bowling (I won!)!! So I'm happy. And I received miniature versions of Strax & Oswin/Clara!! So I'm happy Also, this week I uploaded a story. About Dr Who and Clara arriving onboard the Titanic:
They Had to Die Now, some of you may have noticed that there is now a Jon Pertwee Recipe Book Appreciation Society. Marvellous!!! It was started by Mr Draculasaurus.
http://greencrosscode.wix.com/jonpertweerecipebook And they have some great merchandise, with proceeds going to Heifer International to help feed people somewhere.. It's very exciting. Young Comrade Kaled was busy studying (ok, only half studying) at university. They were getting hungry, so decided to head into the city for some food. They step outside and notice lots of police bikes. And lots of police officers. What's going on? Comrade Kaled remembered seeing something on the university website about the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Maybe it was something to do with her?
They reach the end of the street, and get ready to cross the road. Whilst SPLINKing (Looking both ways...) they notice a small crowd had gathered. Hmmmm. What's going on? Comrade and one of his pals decided to wander over to see. An official looking lady confirmed that it was something to do with Angela Merkel, and she was going to be exiting the building soon. Exciting. Soon she left. I got to see the German Chancellor!!! She said hello to the group who were waiting, but wasn't looking in my direction. She was heading through the nearby park, going to the art gallery. That was on our way to food, so like everyone else we decided to follow. And I took a photo: Has three weeks passed since the last update? Time has really flown by. A couple of weeks ago there was a massive pop culture convention here in Auckland. Hacksaw Jim Duggan (WWE Hall of Famer, winner of the inaugural Royal Rumble) attended and I got his autograph! Such a nice, friendly guy. Shook my hand twice! Also in attendance was Jenna Coleman. You might have heard of her? She plays Clara, in Doctor Who. In the Jon Pertwee Recipe Book, some lady from Skegness (what an awesome place name!) contributed a recipe for Chestnut Soufflé. In Asylum of the Daleks, Jenna's Clara/Oswin character tried baking soufflés. This is proof of the Recipe Book's canonicity!! Just like Hacksaw, Jenna was very nice. The Weeping Angel girl, Sarah Louise Madison was there too, also nice. Around that time, sad news surfaced. Alvin Stardust had passed away :( . He was an occasional character in several of the fan fiction stories published on here.
LOL RIP is his farewell tale. It's been available for some time on Gallifrey Base, and I've finally uploaded it onto here this morning. Why has it taken so long for another blog update? Unfortunately I have exams at the moment. Two down, two to go. The first two have been ok. The first should result in a B of some kind (maybe B+, hopefully an A- but hard to tell). Yesterday's was superb. At least an A. And what about Missy?!?! That'll annoy some anoraks! Keep cool everybody!! |
