Super Sleuth 6: Floppy
Through the ruins of an ocean stalked the ruins of a dolphin.
Her name was Floppy. She was the last of the dolphins.
The world was in its last death throes. Three million, four hundred and twenty seven years and nine days of pollution had finally taken its toll. Every continent on the planet was hidden beneath piles and piles of rubbish. The oceans radiated a sickly green colour. Above, perma-smog blocked much of the sunlight. The cries of birds, once dominating the landscape had now vanished; replaced only by silence.
This all depressed Floppy as she swam around her dead world. All her kind had died. Every day more and more fish and octopi were dieing. Soon she would have nothing to eat and she too would die :(
Though it was not all bad news for Floppy. All the pollution and nuclear waste dumped into her home had caused more mutations in her dolphin ancestors. Over the millennia these accumulated, removing old abilities and adding new ones. At some point in her lineage, her fore-fathers had developed laser eyes. Then super speed swimming. Now she could fly!! This would all be fantastic, but now the planet was almost lifeless.
Her super ears detected sound. Far in the distance. A kind of wheezing, groaning noise. What could it be? Faster than any dolphin had before, she swam towards the origin of the noise. She saw a blue box. A man (cream coat, cricket jumper and celery on the lapels) walked out, stared around sadly, shrugged his shoulders and reentered the box.
Floppy knew what was going to happen next. It would take off. This could be her only chance for survival.
Floppy leaped four foot into the air and hovered towards the blue box. The strange noise started again. Her extra long flippers (a mutation linked to fallout from a nuclear missile shot at Venusian visitors) wrapped around the box.
The TARDIS disappeared, taking Floppy along for the ride.

Earth. Australia. Brisbane. 2015
The Doctor, nearing the end of his fifth incarnation, strode around the many sided TARDIS console, looked at his young companion Vislor Turlough and indicated the scanner, now showing Southbank along the Brisbane River.
"There's no doubt about it Turlough," said the Doctor. "We have landed in the correct place this time."
"What do you think she will be doing now?" asked Turlough.
"Well, it's been 30 years since she left us, relatively speaking. I suspect she'll have a family now, maybe some children. Perhaps one of them is named after me....."
As The Doctor and Turlough discussed the possibilities of Tegan, outside the TARDIS Floppy had let go and entered Brisbane River. She looked around, at the city, at the humans and smiled. This was perfect...

It was quite frankly unbelievable. A dolphin with superpowers going around attacking humanity!?! But it was true. And it was happening. Reports had started flooding in from cities along Australia's east coast of a wild dolphin killing humans with its laser eyes, or severing their heads with its extra long and tough flippers. Floppy's attack on our civilisation had begun.
But what was Floppy's motivation? Survival. Not for her, but for her dolphin kind. For the rest of the living things on the planet. For Earth itself. If she killed all the humans then the pollution would stop and the future would be safe. Sure, this would result and her never having existed (once the paradox sorted itself out - time is a funny business) but the sacrifice would be worth it. Floppy laughed her sadistic dolphin laugh as she murdered more and more pitiful humans.

No human could stand in Floppy's way.
But that was ok.
Sexy Voord wasn't human. She was a voord (and a sexy one too!)
Sexy Voord had been waiting at North Head for Floppy to arrive in Auckland. Sure enough, the dolphin appeared. Out of the corner of Floppy's right laser eye she could see a shiny black being moving towards her. Floppy spun to face the challenge. Floppy willed the lasers. She shot out a bright red laser from each eye, to converge on Sexy Voord's face (somewhere around her nose). What was Sexy Voord going to do?
That was easy. Sexy Voord retrieved a mirror from her purse. The lasers reflected back into the dolphin's eyes, blinding her and ruining the mechanisms which gave her the super ability. Curses! she thought as she returned into the harbour to regroup.

Auckland was burning. Cars were lying wrecked along Queen St. Sky Tower had been knocked over.
Amongst the wreckage two beings were left standing. Sexy Voord and Floppy. Sexy Voord had a dagger in her hand; Floppy had a machete tied to each flipper. Floppy echo-located her way towards Sexy Voord, waving her machetes around to try to frighten our sexy champion. Sexy Voord didn't flinch. The machetes sliced their way towards the voord. She ducked under them and rolled away from the danger. She leapt to her feet and dodged another attack. She parried one machete away, moved closer to Floppy's body and punched her hard on the nose. Floppy stumbled back. Before she could regather her senses, Sexy Voord had swung her dagger twice, cutting off both Floppy's flippers.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" clicked Floppy in anguish. Before any more attacks could occur, she jumped and flew away again to the sea to prepare for one last assault on Sexy Voord...

The scene was set for the final battle. The battle to decide the fate of the planet. The foes stood perched above the crater of Mt Ruapehu, the picturesque volcano in the centre of New Zealand's North Island. Mt Ruapehu was about to erupt. Rocks around the pair crumbled away into the bubbling magma below. Bellowing steam obscured Sexy Voord's vision but did not obstruct Floppy's echolocation. The pair inched towards each other as another piece of the volcano fell away. Hearts were pumping. This was it. Who would win.
Both prepared themselves for the ensuing fight. Floppy had a katana tied to her nose, ready to stab at Sexy Voord if the opportunity arose. Any moment now one of them would make the first move.
"OMG! Is that Alvin Stardust?" pointed Sexy Voord.
Even though she was now blinded, Floppy instinctively spun around to look. Seizing the opportunity, Sexy Voord pushed Floppy off, and down towards the burning magma below. She tried to levitate her way out of trouble, but another falling rock hit her and she entered the deadly magma.
The Floppy threat was over.
Sexy Voord leapt over the side of the crater, and ran as fast as she could. She reached the Voordmobile (a limousine with the front shaped like a giant voord's head) and drove away to safety.
Floppy was dead. Now humanity can continue to pollute the world!!!
