On Friday the All Blacks did a signing session here in Auckland. I got there nice and early to get a good spot in the line. Unfortunately they were operating a system where people who had bought something from that particular shop got a card which put them in a special line that went first. So I was standing there in a line that wasn't moving for most of the time :( Fortunately, the people running the signing decided that those of us who had been waiting in the non-special line had been waiting the whole time so they let us through too. The All Blacks signing were Kieran Read (captain, 2013 world rugby player of the year and two time Rugby World Cup winner), Israel Dagg (Rugby World Cup winner) and Malakai Fekitoa (in the squad that won the rugby world cup in 2015). Here's a photo of the signatures from Read and Dagg:
and that's not all. On the weekend the big geek event of the year happened in Auckland (Armageddon). I went along on Saturday. Christopher Lloyd (Doc Emmett Brown) was there. He was late to his photo session so everybody was standing in line for half an hour before he turned up. But it was worth it. I got to shake his hand. Twice! He said "thanks for coming." I wished him a happy birthday but i don't think he heard me. Then I went and lined up for a photo with James and Oliver Phelps, who are better known as the Weasley Twins!!! They were friendly. Next up was Brutus the Barber Beefcake. He even brought along those shears for the photo. So I have a cool photo where I'm partly holding that! I think I shook his hand too. I got his autograph later in the day.
After that, it was a bit of a break, then I got a photo with Karen Fukuhara who played Katana in Suicide Squad. She looks so different without that mask. She was friendly too. At one of the stalls was Bad Luck Fale (the Underboss) who was promoting a wrestling show that's happening in Auckland in November. Just google sakura events to find out about it!! I got a photo and his autograph too. He was friendly too, and he even did the too sweet finger-sign!! I also got a signature from Nichelle Nichols, who was Uhura in Star Trek. She was lovely. She said I had a wonderful name.
All in all it was a fantastic couple of days!
